Memory: Here and Now

Memory is not a distant echo but a living force. In my work, ancestral roots exist fully in the present—active, breathing, shaping the world I inhabit. Through layered color, textured surfaces, and intuitive gesture, I explore how heritage moves through the female body, not as nostalgia but as a pulse that guides us forward.

My paintings emerge from the convergence of past and present, where native traditions, cultural memory, and lived experience intertwine. Each mark becomes an act of remembrance; each layer, a continuation of stories carried across generations. Rather than depicting roots as something buried, I reveal them as vibrant and evolving—threads of identity that rise to the surface and claim space in the contemporary moment.

Working in oil on panels and mixed media, my work feels both grounded and in transformation. The interplay of figure and symbolic elements reflects the way memory shifts, adapts, and reasserts itself.
